2013 Sauvignon Blanc - Dry Creek Valley - Forth Vineyards
The 2013 harvest season provided us with the luxury of longer hang-time for the fruit, allowing for a perfect balance of all the things we love in this varietal. The juice was cold fermented very slowly in stainless steel and allowed to rest on the lees for several months until it recent bottling of just 285 cases.

2012 Cabernet Sauvignon - Dry Creek Valley, 'All Boys' Forth Vineyards
All Boys The blend is 92% 'BOYS' block Cab, 6% Syrah, La Rousse, and 2% Merlot. To be honest, for the year following the 2012 harvest, I had my doubts about whether the wines from this challenging vintage would be 'Forth-worthy'. Unlike our typical perfect Sonoma County climate, the grapes struggled to ripen. I am a perfectionist when it comes to winemaking because I only want you to have the best. It is my way of telling you how much we care about you. That said, it is with a huge sigh of relief that I can report that the resulting wine is a wonderful success! This one can easily age for 15 years, but is tempting and tasty right now and an open bottle can often be found on our table.

2012 Cabernet Sauvignon, "Rebecca's Vineyard," Dry Creek Valley - Forth Vineyards
High in the steep, sun-washed, rocky vineyard named for our daughter, Rebecca, the vines struggle, producing low yields and small berries. The resulting wine is elegant and sophisticated, complex, and immensely pleasurable.
Our very first wine was made from this vineyard in 1998. The vineyard is showing its age these days, with the most recent harvest yielding only 2 tons from nearly 2 acres. However, the wines it creates are more beguiling than ever. This deeply-hued beauty expresses itself in lovely black cherry notes and is redolent of the briary, leafy, forest floor after a rain; reminiscent of the wines of the better Bordeaux Chateaux.

Our Histoire label, (histoire means'story' in French) allows us the opportunity to search out beautiful fruit sources and varietals with which to create intriguing blends, each with their own 'story' to tell. Chapter 6, a 2013 Cabernet Sauvignon, is a serious, lovely wine...think St Emilion in a great year. Coming August 2015

2005 Cabernet Sauvignon 1.5 Litre (Magnum) Rebecca's, Dry Creek Valley - Forth Vineyards
As the wine begins to open in the glass, it gives up fragrances of blackberry, dark brandied cherry, toasted almond, with hints of spearmint. One sip allows those luscious blackberry and cherry notes to burst to burst onto the palate, followed by bright red current, toasty oak, and supple, fine-grained tannins. With wonderfully balanced acidity, this wine was created to be paired with food, and while this vintage is a lovely ingenue and approachable now

2012 Syrah - Dry Creek Valley, Forth Vineyards
The wine opens with rich, dark plum and blackberry notes, mingled with espresso, saddle leather, smoky meats, and freshly baked bread. Fine, well-integrated tannins, a silky, supple mouth-feel, and balanced acidity make this one of our favorites to pair with winter braises and roasts as well as with savory barbecue as the weather warms. Delightful now through 2018, and then continuing to improve through 2020.
2012 Merlot, Dry Creek "Histoire" Chapter 5 from Forth Vineyards
A few months ago a highly-regarded sommelier stopped by for a barrel tasting of the 2012 vintage. As we plunged the thief into the barrel, we explained that this wine is only used as a part of the ALL BOYS Cab blend, but after a sniff, swirl, and taste, his response was, " You've got to bottle this wine...it's amazing!" We like to pay attention to great advice, so we bottled just 100 cases. It is a serious and lovely wine that will easily age 10-15 years. Its character is St Emilion in a great year, opening with lush, ripe blueberry, dried cherry, a slight hint of garden soil ready for spring planing, and finishes with length, balance, and nice plucky tannins...not your mother's Merlot! Mmmmm! 80% Merlot, 20% Cabernet from the famous 'BOYS' blocks.
