	2009 Pi-ano Ca' Bella from Lago di Merlo Our unique blend of Fiano (61.5%) Southern Italian White Grape and Pinot Grigio (38.5%) North Italian White Grape. "Va piano" in Italian means to "proceed calmly". At Lago di Merlo we have blended the best of the northern part with the best from the South to create "Pi-ano". The Pinot Grigio contributed to the earthy steeliness of the wine while the Fiano gives it the lush stone fruit character that is so supple. This wine marks our first attempt at producing a true Northern Piedmont—style wine. This wine’s deep garnet color clings to the side of your glass, all the while filling your nose with dense saucy fruit aromas of bing cherries and raspberries. Only neutral oak was used in the aging process, so that no characters would be stripped from this fruit bomb of a red wine.
