Philip Staley

2009 Viognier - Russian River Valley - Philip Staley Vineyards & Winery

Viognier, the classic white varietal of the grand Condrieu appellation of France northern Rhone Valley, makes a truly distinctive white wine. The exotic aromas and flavors of the Viognier grape are prominent in this wine, from pineapple to peach and apricot, along with a pleasant seam of herbs and an intriguing minerality that makes it the perfect partner for everything from seafood to Honey-Glazed Herb Roasted Chicken.

2007 Viognier Mendocino County, Ca'Bella

Both Chardonnay and Viognier share tropical fruit flavors and a creamy mouthfeel. Even with little or no wood aging, Viognier can be as full-bodied as an oaky Chardonnay, but has much more distinctive fruit character. It also has a typically deep golden color, as well as rich and intense flavor.
